HOW MUCH CAVIAR DO I NEED TO ORDER?

We recommend about 1 ounce (30g) per person for a full caviar experience. If you're serving caviar alongside other hors d'oeuvres, ½ ounce per person is usually plenty.

HOW SHOULD I SERVE CAVIAR?

Serve caviar well chilled over a bed of crushed ice.

Enjoy it traditionally with blini and crème fraîche, or simply savor it straight from the tin.

For the best flavor, use utensils made from Mother of Pearl, glass, horn, wood, or gold. Metal utensils can subtly affect the taste.

WHAT SHOULD I DRINK WITH CAVIAR?

Caviar pairs beautifully with Champagne, sparkling wine, chilled vodka, or a crisp, dry white wine. For a non alcoholic option, sparkling water is an excellent palate cleanser that lets the flavor of the caviar shine.

HOW DO I OPEN MY CAVIAR?

Insert a sturdy, flat edged tool between the lid and the base of the tin, then gently twist to break the seal.

Our Caviar Tin Key is designed specifically for opening traditional caviar tins with ease.

HOW SHOULD I STORE MY CAVIAR?

Keep unopened caviar refrigerated between 18°F and 32°F in the coldest part of your refrigerator.

Unopened caviar stays fresh for up to 4 weeks when properly refrigerated. Once opened, enjoy it within 3 to 4 days for the best flavor and texture.

Do not freeze caviar. Upon arrival, remove the caviar from the insulated shipping packaging and refrigerate it immediately in the coldest part of your refrigerator.

WHAT SHOULD I DO WHEN MY ORDER ARRIVES?

Refrigerate your caviar immediately after delivery. Remove it from the insulated packaging and store it in the coldest part of your refrigerator. It is perfectly normal for the ice packs to have partially thawed during transit, provided the caviar remains cool to the touch.

WHAT'S THE DIFFERENCE BETWEEN CAVIAR AND ROE?

True caviar comes exclusively from sturgeon. Roe refers to the eggs of other fish, such as salmon, trout, paddlefish, tobiko, or ikura. While both are delicious, each offers its own unique flavor and texture.

IS YOUR CAVIAR PASTEURIZED?

No. Our caviar and roe are fresh and non pasteurized, preserving their delicate texture, clean finish, and nuanced flavor.

IS YOUR CAVIAR SUSTAINABLY SOURCED?

Yes. Sustainability is at the heart of what we do. We source our caviar from responsibly managed aquaculture farms that prioritize fish welfare, environmental stewardship, and exceptional quality, helping protect wild sturgeon populations for future generations.

WHY IS CAVIAR SO EXPENSIVE?

Exceptional caviar takes time. Depending on the species, sturgeon can take 7 to 20 years to mature before producing roe. Each harvest is carefully graded by hand for size, texture, color, and flavor, with only the finest lots selected.

Combined with sustainable farming practices and meticulous handling from harvest to delivery, these factors make caviar one of the world's most prized culinary experiences.

WHEN WILL MY ORDER SHIP?

Orders are typically processed within 1 to 3 business days, Monday through Thursday.

Once fulfilled, they ship via UPS Priority Overnight.

Please note that Priority Overnight refers to transit time only and does not include processing time.

For 250g, 500g, and 1kg tins, please allow an additional 1 to 2 business days for preparation.

CAN I CHOOSE MY DELIVERY DATE?

We do not offer scheduled ship dates or guaranteed delivery dates.

If you're ordering for a special occasion, we recommend placing your order about one to two weeks before your event. Unopened caviar has a refrigerated shelf life of up to 4 weeks, giving you plenty of flexibility while ensuring maximum freshness.

CAN I CHANGE MY ORDER?

If your order has not yet entered fulfillment, our Caviar Concierge Virtual Assistant can help with eligible changes right away.

You can also contact us within 24 hours of placing your order. While we'll always do our best to accommodate your request, changes cannot be guaranteed once fulfillment begins.

CAN I PICK UP MY ORDER?

Yes. In store pickup is available at our San Francisco and Tiburon locations.

To ensure every order is enjoyed at peak freshness, pickup orders may only be scheduled within two weeks of your desired pickup date.

HOW IS MY ORDER PACKAGED?

Every order is carefully packed in biodegradable insulated packaging with frozen ice blocks to help maintain a safe temperature throughout transit.

WHAT IF MY PACKAGE IS DELAYED?

If your shipment is delayed, we'll gladly work with the carrier on your behalf and assist however we can.

If you added SavedBy Package Protection at checkout, your order may also be eligible for coverage against qualifying transit delays.

SHOULD I ADD PACKAGE PROTECTION?

Yes. We highly recommend adding SavedBy Package Protection to help protect your order against loss, theft, damage, and qualifying carrier delays.

DO YOU SHIP TO P.O. BOXES?

No. Because caviar and roe are highly perishable, we require a physical street address for delivery. We are unable to ship perishable products to P.O. Boxes.

CAN I RETURN CAVIAR?

Since caviar is perishable, all sales are final.
